4-Ingredients, Paleo, Whole30, & Vegan!
First of all, yummmm. This Hempseed Avocado Fruit Salad is so good and just screams summer. Avocados are often paired with savory counterparts, and rightfully so, but they also go totally well with sweet, fresh fruit. I honestly love this salad for any meal of the day – breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack, or even dessert.
I don’t know about you guys, but my summer has been busy! There are so many fun things going on, and even if it’s a regular old weeknight people are eager to get out and be social. On a personal note, I’ve found some new flexibility in myself lately, feeling more inclined to skip my workout and go to happy hour with friends or take some time off blog prep to go on a spontaneous camping trip. Giving myself permission to be more flexible and lessen my daily demands (that I often impose on myself) has been really liberating and positive. I highly recommend giving yourself a break!
So, where am I going with all this? Well, as a Nutritionist and foodie, I’m always thinking about my next meal. With all these activities popping up I still want to prioritize my healthy diet, and easy meals like my Hempseed Avocado Fruit Salad make that totally possible. When I have a big, delicious bowl of food waiting in the fridge, I am free to have more time in other areas of my day – and you will too!
Why You Should Eat This Hempseed Avocado Fruit Salad
I didn’t realize I loved avocados until I worked at a little vegetarian restaurant in college, Good Vibes Café. I guess I had just never really been exposed to them, but once I was the addiction fully blossomed. Now I could eat them every day.
These creamy, green fruits are packed with so many healthy nourishing compounds, among which is their concentration of monounsaturated fats. These are the same heart healthy fats found in olives, and they help your body absorb other nutrients, like the antioxidant beta-carotene that’s also found in avocados. Avocados also supply phytosterols, which are plant compounds that can be helpful in balancing healthy levels of cholesterol in addition to giving you some whole-body supporting anti-inflammatory properties.
Then there are the strawberries and peaches, which add a delightfully sweet touch to my Hempseed Avocado Fruit Salad. They’re both packed with fiber, Vitamin C, and antioxidants while having a low glycemic index so they’re gentle on your blood sugar. (Side note – peaches are crazy good right now in Colorado!)
Strawberries provide a compound called quercetin, which has anti-inflammatory benefits and can be really helpful for those suffering from allergies or immune system issues. An awesome benefit of peaches is their carotenoid content (which includes the beta-carotene I mentioned earlier) – these are precursors to Vitamin A so they contribute to the health of your eyes, immunity, and skin.
Hempseeds are a wonderful, nutty tasting, cherry-on-top for this Hempseed Avocado Fruit Salad. They pack a ton of protein, fiber, and omega fatty acids into a tiny little package. I love having them around the house the house for smoothies, parfaits, trail mix, or salads.
How To Make My Hempseed Avocado Fruit Salad
First, make sure your avocados aren’t overly ripe, otherwise, they’ll get a bit mushy when you toss this all together. Simply cut up your peaches, strawberries, and avocados, trying to get the pieces roughly the same size. This helps you get a little bit of everything in one bite – yes, please! Add 1 Tbsp of hempseeds and gently toss everything together, then top with the additional hempseeds and you’re ready to serve.
If you’re eating this for breakfast, it goes great with eggs of any kind, or you can even top with granola! If you want to mix it up for lunch or dinner, you can serve it alongside some grilled chicken or steak, toss in some chickpeas, or pour it over a little chopped romaine lettuce. This goes perfectly with my Green Curry Drumsticks but, obviously, it’s completely delicious on its own, too.

This refreshing mix of avocados, peaches, strawberries, and hempseeds is the perfect summer dish for any occasion! Amazing by itself or paired with something off the grill.
Ingredients
- 2 avocados
- 3 yellow peaches
- 1 lb. fresh strawberries
- 2 Tbsp. raw hempseeds
Instructions
- Chop avocados, peaches, and strawberries into pieces, try to make them relatively close in size.
- Sprinkle with 1 Tbsp. hempseeds and gently toss.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 Tbsp. hempseeds on top and enjoy!
